Uncommon Sense is a skein dyed in honor of my Aunt Amy, who passed away in January 2020 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She had a passion for teaching business professionals the ‘uncommon sense’ of marketing in the social media age. She was a huge supporter of entrepreneurs and small businesses, and an early cheerleader for Suburban Stitcher. She was a beautiful knitter, a lover of dinner parties, fine crystal, & was never seen without an antique brooch she had acquired from one of her estate sale adventures. Uncommon Sense is a skein with shades of orange, red, coral, & salmon with dark blue & orange speckles. This listing allows you to select the base of yarn you would like.
$5 US from the sale of each skein sold from now until the end of February 2020 will be donated to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Hand dyed yarn can very from skein to skein, even within the same dyelot. Please take care to purchase enough yarn to complete your project.
This yarn does contain superwash merino, however, I do always recommend that you hand wash your knitwear. Please use cold or lukewarm water and lay flat to dry. I use colorfast acid dyes for dying my yarn, and rinse until water runs clear. However even with all of this, there is a chance that some dye may bleed slightly in the first wash of your finished item. This is particularly true for highly saturated colors and speckled skeins. Because of this, I do recommend that you wash your items separately, especially for the first couple of washes.
The pictures in this listing are true to color for my eyes on my computer. Please know that there might be slight variations in color from screen to screen. I do not use stock photos, as each dye lot might vary widely.
