Healing & Hope: the mission of the Fort Bend Womens' Center (FBWC). This agency, which is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Houston, serves individuals who are fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault, or other abusive relationships. The agency provides shelter, temporary housing, counseling services, and neurotherapy services to all who reach out. As with many non-profit organizations, they are primarily funded by federal, state, & local grants, but help is always needed to further fund programs. This is where we as knitters can help.
$5 from the sale of each skein will be donated to the Womens' Center. I will be accepting preorders for this skein of yarn throughout the month of September, or until my capacity has been reached.
This skein of yarn has been dyed purple & teal, the colors of the FBWC logo. It has been dyed in a manner that will create "micro stripes" in a sock. There is a possibility of pooling if it is knit at a wider circumference.
Suburban Stitcher sock yarn is made up of: 75% superwash merino 25% nylon 460 yds/100 grams per skein
This yarn is super soft and yet very strong. It is sturdy enough for your next pair of socks, and also soft enough to wear next to your skin in a hat, shawl or even a sweater. One skein should be more than enough for an adult pair of socks.
Hand dyed yarn can very from skein to skein, even within the same dyelot. Please take care to purchase enough yarn to complete your project.
Care: This yarn does contain superwash merino, however, I do always recommend that you hand wash your knitwear. Please use cold or lukewarm water and lay flat to dry. I use colorfast acid dyes for dying my yarn, and rinse until water runs clear. However even with all of this, there is a chance that some dye may bleed slightly in the first wash of your finished item. This is particularly true for highly saturated colors and speckled skeins. Because of this, I do recommend that you wash your items separately, especially for the first couple of washes.
The pictures in this listing are true to color for my eyes on my computer. Please know that there might be slight variations in color from screen to screen. I do not use stock photos, as each dye lot might vary widely.
